For Physics Purpose :

The heating effect of an electric current:
When a charge moves in a conductor, work is done by that charge. Devices can be made which convert this work into heat ( electric heaters), light (light bulbs and neon tubes), or motion, i.e. kinetic energy (power tools).
From the definition of potential difference, V, we have V = W/Q, where W is the work done by charge Q. Hence, W = VQ.
Current is the flow of charge, so that in time t, the amount of charge moving through the conductor will be Q = It.
Therefore, W = VIt gives the work done in time t, by a current I, flowing through a conductor across which the potential difference is V.

We use many devices in which electrical energy is converted into heat energy. When electric current is passed through a wire, it is heated up and the electrical energy is converted into heat energy. Devices like the filament of an electric heater, geyser, light bulb etc utlise this 'heating effect of current'.
Why is heat produced when current is passed through a conductor?
A metallic conductor has a large number of free electrons available in it. When a potential difference is applied across the ends of a wire, the free electrons begin to drift from a region of low potential to a region of high potential. These electrons collide with the positive ions (the atoms which have lost their electrons). These collisions transfer the energy of the electron to the positive ions which begin to vibrate more violently. As a result, heat is produced.
The greater the number of electrons flowing per second, the greater will be the rate of collisions and so greater is the heat produced. If the cross sectional area of conductor is greater, collisions are avoided and hence less heat is produced.

Hey People! Just Came BACK FROM CAMP!

1st Day

Went to Henderson exchange. The HALL IS DAMN NICE CAN?!? Air-conditioned O_o" Got 10 bands. I Think all the band is Silver-bands. So got competition. ALL PLAY NICE. Kranji is like Top 3-4 (?) We are in the second half of the exchange. After exchange, went to our bunks. Prepare our stuff. And practiced. Practise. Practise. Practise. Got Dinner. Then Night practice. We practice. Joke and tell stories. Sir tell us ghost stories. Then got ghost(?) in our storeroom. Dont know lah. Whether real or not. Baaah friendly ghost. xD Then practice until 2am. WAAAH SHIOK. Had Cambell Soup for Supper. Then Lights Off.

2nd Day

Hey PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPS.

Just Came back from camp. Damn Tired.. So lets flashback :D I try to summarise the whole thing.

Day 1:

Reach school around 6.55am. Had National Anthem and Pledge. Waited for the instructors. Had Roti Prata for breakfast before the briefing xD Around 1 hour of waiting, the instructor came. The chief instructor gave introduction of the other trainers and had briefing. :D The name of our Instructors are Iff and Malina! :D Took the bus and headed to the camp site. Had lunch. Packed food -.- Then had the activities ! :D My Group was assigned to the tower element first. So I played the Zip-Line ( Flying Fox ) First! :D Hahas. Damn fun ar. After that played Abseiling. Ok-ok, not that fun. Played Rock Climbing(Hard must build on upper muscle X.X ) but successfully climbed half of the wall xD. After the tower elements, played the Rope Challenge. I played the Vine Rope thingy. Where you must balance but there are ropes' hanging to help you to go to the other end. Successfully finished the challenge in 1 minutes 14 secs. :D After that got Dinner. Blind-Man trail was the next activity. Quite fun. Cant see a thing O_O. Then Briefing about the next day. Reflection. Then its lights off. But cant sleep thanks to AOSHI AND OSCAR. Haiz..Laugh like donkey liddat.

Day 2:

Wake up earlier than the others. Didnt bathe cause the whole toilet was packed -.- Then did some morning exercises. Then KAYAKING! WOOTS. My buddy is Andrew. Kayak all the way to East Coast Park. As much as I wanted to capsize, I didn't T_T. Me and Andrew were the Portside Marker. So we make sure that no one passed us. Damn shiok ar. But the sun was scorching hot. After Kayaking got General Stations, Not that fun. Cause kana punished. T_T THANKS TO SOME MEMBERS IN OUR GROUP. Never follow instructions. Haiz. Then played some games after that. Dinner. Then Campfire was Fun! :D Instructors had performance. Damn funny ar. Got games and cheers. After campfire, got briefing about the next day. Then, LIGHTS OUT. Too tired to stay up. xD

Day 3:

Last day of camp. Woke up and had breakfast. Did area cleaning. Cleaned the girls dormitory. DAMN DIRTY AR. O_O Mop the floor. Then had picture taken with Instructor Iff and Malina! Said goodbye to them and went back home. Haiz..I think the camp was too short ar. But learned a few things and had some experience.

Slept like a log from 1pm to 7pm O_O. Ouhkae. I need to unpack my camping bag. BYE! :D

Last night, I had a Damn Damn Damn weird dream. Its like im in 1D classroom, then everybody was like sleeping. I was the only one awake. So I went out and saw my parents at the 4th floor, waving at me. I wass like -.-". So then I played soccer with Ameen and gang. Against Tottenham. O.o I know, weird much? When we were playing, a swarm of huge butterflies attack me. I was like "AAAAHHHH!". Then the whole atmosphere change. Where am I? I'm in a butterfly lab. A professor came to me and explained the life cycle of a Butterfly. I was like WTH? In the lab, there's my primary school friend in a experimental room or smthing. He was lying down on a bed with coccoons around him. O.o

BACK FROM GENTING!!

Yea, five days of tiring fun and stress. Lols. Took ALOT of photos, especially Xin Da 'act cute' faces. xD

1st Day :

We meet at the school foyer. Took our instruments and waited for the bus. Had attendance and all. Took the bus. Took few minutes to reach checkpoint. Teacher keep reminding us ' DONT LOOSE UR WHITE CARD OR PASSPORT '. -.- It tends to get irritating. In malaysia, took 2 hours to reach our rest stop, at yong peng. After our rest, we took 4 hours to go to GENTING. Checked in our room. DAMN my room is small. T.T Room mate is Weng Kang :D. Room No. 23 831.

I MISS MY ROOM T.T Lols.

Put our stuffs. Then get ready for the Opening Ceremony. :D Temperature there was chilly and not THAT freezing cold. Played Shrek Dance Party :D It was scary sia. Alot of people T.T Lols. Then Blah Blah. Nothing else. Go to room. Lights Out. Zzzzzz

2nd Day:

This day is so STRESSFUL. Its the competition day. We kana scolded alot. T.T We practiced the WHOLE DAY for the competition. No time to joke around. Blah blah. Our Adjudication will be at 3pm. So After 3pm, we can loosen ourself. We played Greenhills Fantasy and Postcard From Singapore. SUPER SCARY. Eventhough, not as much audience as Opening ceremony, still the tense was there. T.T After the adjudication, we had our dinner and stuff. :P We planned to have a party at James' room, but the teachers dont allow us to. T.T In the end, we had a party :D. lols. Mr Kat even joined in. But I wasn't in the party though, too tired and stressed up.

3rd Day:

WE KANA GROUNDED! Lols. For not following instructions and stuff. After we had our workshop, we had to stay in our rooms for 4 hours T.T So, to kill our boredom, Me and Weng Kang, watch a chinese show :D. 'Let's Shine'. Quite nice. Nothing much this day. In the room. Haiz...But we were informed that we could sleep at midnight that day! :D

4th Day:

THIS DAY ROCKS!!! Had our theme park. I played some rides. I didnt take the boring rides, cause its like raining and im too lazy to queue. I TOOK THE BEST RIDES! :D

Took Thundermine Train Coaster ( Ok lah!)

Took Flying Coaster ( SHIOK! )

Took Space Shot (SHIOKK! ANd SCARY! BESTEST OF ALL THE RIDES!)

Took Express Lane ( Best in Indoor Themepark! )

Took Bumper Car ( Time too short Sian)

What makes the day was when at the Space shot. Its like you were brought to 3o-storey high and it drops you down. ITS DAMN SCARY AR. The pressure was so strong that Zhen Ye's Spectacle bended. YEA, BENDED. And I Cant believe Benedict was like scared. He was like
,"OMG OMG So HIGH OMG OMG So High". Then I was like," I Want Go Down! AHHH!"

Seriously it was scary. People was like ants when we were at the highest point.

THE DAY WAS SUPER FUN Ar. Got sore throat for shouting out loud for Flying coaster and Space shot. :D:D:D Then after themepark got prize taking. We won SILVER! :D

5th Day:

We packed up. And went home after breakfast :D. Took 6 hours to reach check point. AND HERE I AM! :D IN SINGAPORE! :D

Genting was one of my memorable experience and it has a splendid scenery! :D

At the very last minute, some of us were chosen to play a piece called Shrek Dance Party. It will be played for the opening ceremony in the Genting Competition. And I Was One Of Them! Damn. I never played the song before. So struggled. Yea. The piece consisted of mixed songs. Such as Y.M.C.A, Stayin' Alive,Happy Together,Who Let The Dogs Out and Feelings. I'm sure all of you have heard at least one of these songs. :D So yea. And we were told to shake our butt during one part of the song :D.
